President’s Report

2019 was a much-improved year on and off the field for our club.

On field highlights were the U19s winning the grand final, the Masters making the grand final and the men’s premier division finishing sixth – as well as the women’s premier division team and men’s reserves being competitive all year.

The ANZAC Day match at Picken Oval against Pennant Hills was both another highly successful event, plus a welcome win for Wests.

Detailed reports on our five teams’ seasons are provided in this report by the coaches.

The key off field activity was – following extensive consultation – the approval on 21 December 2018 by AFL Sydney of our playing name to Inner West Magpies following the merger of the Wests women’s and men’s clubs. Events during the year included Presentation Night on 19 October, Wests have Talent 17 August and the golf day on 1 March.

Sincere thanks to our loyal 2019 sponsors – Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL, Abbott Locksmiths and Elders Inner West.

The committee met monthly – many thanks to the committee, coaches, players, support staff and loyal supporters.

In 2020 we’ll bring in new teams and update our constitution among many other activities.
